Clinic Program

2007-2008

What it is: This program is to introduce 2nd and 3rd grade girls into the fundamentals of the game of basketball in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Through this program the girls will learn the basic skills needed to understand and play the game of basketball.

What is taught: Through the course of 10 weeks the girls will learn the skills of shooting, dribbling, defense, layups, passing, rebounding and boxing out.

How it’s taught: Each session a different skill is stressed through a series of workouts and exercises led by team coaches. After a few sessions the girls will start playing in their own mini scrimmages at the end of each session. These scrimmages will get the girls ready for their exhibition game/pizza party which will be held on Sunday February 10th 2008.

What to Wear: Girls should wear athletic sneakers with flat soles and comfortable shorts or sweatpants. A T-Shirt will be provided at the first session and we ask for the girls to wear them at each session. Absolutely no jewelry is to be worn to prevent any injuries!

Important Reminders: All girls should arrive to the High School gym between 7:45 and 7:55 AM each Saturday of clinic. We will start promptly at 8:00AM, and do not want any girls to miss out on anything. Also, only a short time will be devoted to stretching, so if your daughter needs additional stretching to avoid injury, please arrive early or have it done before you arrive. Girls may bring water to have throughout the session and we ask for no basketballs from home to be brought we have plenty of balls for each girl!
