Senior Division

Sonics 28 vs. Pacers 22

Brittney Wallace’s sniper like shooting and season high 14 points, wasn’t quite enough to beat a very tough Sonics Team.  Amy DeFrancesco had 3 pts., Meghan Hamilton and Alexandra Remigio had 2 pts. each and Andrea Hardy had 1 point.   Christina Dick, named defensive player of the game,  keptthe pressure on the defensive side of the court and was assisted by Alichia Cordeirowho was once again a force on the boards.  But in the end the Sonics were able to pull away for a victory.  Great game played by both teams.

 

Wizards 28 vs. Raptors 25

Liz Connolly   had  7 pts.,  Nicole McColgan had 3 pts., and Allyson Trayah and Kim Fairweather had  9 points each.  Great Team defense, especially Nicole Dunlevy in the 4th Quarter.

 

Jazz 32 vs. Spurs 28

Great shooting by both teams.  Excellent defensive played by the entire Jazz team.  Scoring for the Jazz was Shelby Madore with 20 points, HayleyAustin with 8 points and Shiana Licker with 2 points.  Sarah Hogan was named defensive player of the game. 

The Spurs were strong competition for a hot shooting Jazz team in a 30-27 loss.  Jessie Bissett led the Spurs with a season high 15 points along with key baskets and strong rebounding from Emily Guiliani, 8 points.  Rounding out the scoring for the Spurs was Emily Hartigan and Sydnie Lopolito (2 points each).   Great hustle and teamwork by Sheri Liggiero and  Siobhan Coleman.

 

Blazers 27 vs. Magic 17

Scoring for the Blazers was Michelle Gavin with 9 points, Kaylyn Michaud with 8 pts., Brooke Litwinsky with 4pts., and Stephanie Casino, Alyssa Martucciand Francesca Pesantes with 2 points each.

Scoring for the Magic was Nicole Devoe with 6 points, Jessica Fortier with 4 pts., Jamie Flynn, Taylor Marshall and Gina Papageorgiou with 2 pts., and Amanda Cossar with 1 point.

 

Junior Division

Mercury 20 vs. Sparks 14

The Mercury team played its best game of the year vs a tough Sparks team.  Lisa Petrowski led all scorers with 8 points and 10 rebounds.  Lindsay Cossarand Hilary Fletcher both had some outstanding baskets on the fast break.  The Mercury got off to a great start by the defense of Ashley Colarusso and Sandra Fleming.  Nicki Santora added to the fast start by scoring a very nice basket. Britney Fletcher and Marina Russo kept the Mercury going strong in the second quarter with some great defensive play and had 2 steals each.  Karolyn Gallella was all over the court swatting and grabbing balls from the other team and also added two points in the 4th quarter.  The Mercury team passed the ball around to every player the entire game.  5th graders Cossar , Petrowski, Fletcher and Fleming were all dominant in their last regular season game in the Junior division.

Scoring for the Sparks was Marissa Mariel with 10 points and June Garcia with 4 points.

 

 

Lynx 14 vs. Starzz 7

In a battle to secure the #2 seed in the playoffs, the Lynx defeated a talented Starzzteam, 14-7.  Scoring 8 points, Kayla Berube led the offense.

Another terrific game by the energetic Toni Joy, pushing the ball up the court all game.

Ally Kelly kept the offense in high gear with her ball handling and drives to the bucket.

Scoring for the Starzz was Erin Henry with 5 points and Molly Robertson with 2 points.

 

 

Comets 12 vs. Rockers 6

Great game against the Comets!  Rockers, you all did a super job we just missed the mark a bit.  Alysa Difruscia with 4 points and Meredith Cahill with another 2!  Cristina Gath and Melissa Marksworthhad a great game rebounding - you both put it out there - awesome!!  Heather and Corinne Doyle and Colleen Kelly were speeding around the court going after the ball and did a great job taking the ball down the court.  Alysa was after the rebounds and had a few steals as well.  Katie Dunleavy and Meredith Cahill did a super job covering under the boards - picking up players and helping out their teammates.  You Rockers were really putting the ball up there and that is exactly what you want to do!!  Great job!

 

Intermediate Division

Tar Heels 27  Terriers 14

The Tar Heels ended the regular season in fine fashion with a 27-14 victory over a hustling Terriers squad.  Once again, the Tar Heels' scoring was spread out over 8 different players with Anna Piccolo leading the way with 8 points.  Rachel Pendleton added 6 points, Abby Donoghue scored 4 points, Julia Bodoni had 3 points, and Jen Iannacci, Megan Sheppard and Gabi Mecherkany each added 2.  Abby Donoghue played fantastic defense causing many turnovers.  Alex Mecherkany played very strong inside blocking shots and getting reounds and Josie Saiz was hustling all over the place as usual.  Good luck to all teams as the playoffs begin.

Scoring for the Terriers was Arianna Medeiros with 6 points and Marissa Liggiero, Danielle Newhall and Alyssa Post with 2 points each.

 

Eagles 30 vs. Wildcats 16

The Eagles ended their season with a win over the Wildcats and a final score of 30 to 16.  This win gave the Eagles a 12-0 record.  Offensively Nicole Chaet 10 pts, Nicole DePierro 12 pts and Nicole Hamel 8 pts.  Defensively Hanah and Mariah Culwellplayed incredibly well dominating the boards.   Brittney Pachucki, Krista Mignon and Marrisa Harrington all played great defense at the top of the key making it hard for the Wildcats offense to penetrate.  Kaitlin Fitzgerald helped her team with several key rebounds and great passes.   Congratulations to the Eagles for a great undefeated season. 

Scoring for the Wildcats was Meredith Bonugli with 7 points, Melissa Cordwell with 3 points and Haley Golini, Emily Hamilton and Rachel Kelleher with 2 points each.

 

Wolverines 42 vs. Waves 32

Scoring for the Wolverines was Shana Chartienitz with 10 points, Stephanie Champoux with 9 points, Christine Kang with 7 pts., Shanell Nardone with 6 pts., Chelsee Porcaro with 4 pts., and Rachel Ragucci, Jennifer Salvucciand Lily Yon with 2 points each.

Scoring for the Waves was Tiffanie Marsh with 19 points, Olivia Gallella and Allison Tierney with 6 points each and Kimberly Brekalis with 1 point.

 

Huskies 26 vs. Jayhawks 24

After an early first half lead, the Jayhawks got into a tight battle with the Huskies.  Scoring for the Jayhawks led by Caitlin Morris (12 points), Bridget Casey (6 points), Mackenzie Pierce (4 points) and Stacey Crown (2 points).  Defensive stars down the stretch for the Jayhawks were Brooke Patterson and Leanne Lozowski

The never say die Huskies pulled out another win against a tough Jayhawks team. Falling behind early in the game by as many as 12 points, the Huskies never gave up. Leading the way was Sam Laferriere, who played her best game of the year, while pouring in a team high 14 pts. Also scoring some key baskets were Tessa Wyatts (4pts) and Shannon Semenza (4pts). Playing some tough defense and keeping the Jayhawks in check were Abby Meuse, Mariana Callahan, and Britney Sullivan. The Huskies finally tied it up in the fourth quarter. With the game on the line, the ball handling skills of Sara Semenza (4pts) and shooting of Sam Laferriere proved too much, as the Huskies pulled out a 2 point victory.

 

 

Crusaders 30 vs. Falcons 20

Meghan Sears scored 15 while Shannon McLaughlin scored 7 against a tough Falcons defense.  Lindsey Andella pulled down some important defensive rebounds while Devin Kelly and Kim Tecce controlled the ball at the point.  Defensive players of the game were Jillian Phaneufand Jaime Macallister.  Crusaders finished the regular season with a 7-5 record.  Congratulations Crusaders !
Scoring for the Falcons was Melissa Peters with 10 points, Kelly Quigley with 6 points and Allyson Braciska with 4 points.
