Raptors 40
vs. Pacers 26
The Raptors
broke open a close game in the third quarter by outscoring the Pacers by 14
points, which ended up being the difference in the final score. The win was
fueled by Paige Gumbrecht with a season high 14 points.
Also contributing to the win was Alyssa Kelly with nine points, Maddy Lovejoy eight points, Emily Fugate with 6 points and
Andrea Caprio with three points. The Raptors were led
defensively by Emily Fugate, named defensive player of the game, who played her
strongest game of the year and led the team with 12 rebounds. Shannon Shikles had a strong game at center and had three blocked
shots.
Scoring for
the Pacers were Amy DeFrancesco with 12 pts., Alichia
Cordeiro and Brittney Wallace with 4 points, and
Christine Dick, Courtney Downing and Andrea Hardy with two points apiece.
Blazers 25
vs. Spurs 20
Thus far one
of the hardest fought wins for the Blazers against a very relentless Spurs
team. Both teams played hard to the very
end with a never give up attitude.
Offensive standouts for the Blazers were Stephanie Casino and Francesca Pesantes with 8 pts. each, Maggie
Middleton 4 pts., Kaylyn Michaud 3 pts., and Brooke Litwinsky with 2 pts.
Kaylyn Michaud was named defensive player of
the game with great assistance from Francesca Pesantes
and Stephanie Casino.
Strong
rebounding by Emily Giulliani (4 points) and inside
points from Hayley Malone (6 points) kept the game close as the Blazers
defeated the Spurs 25 - 20. Overall
strong games for Catie Vultaggio
and Jessie Bissett, 4 points each, and Sheri Liggiero, 2 points. Stong defensive
effort from Sydnie Loplolito,
Erin Plunkett and Emily Hartigan.
Sonics 36 vs.
Magic 33
The
Sonics-Magic game was of playoff quality.
The Magic came out strong in the first quarter and the Sonics had to
play strong to catch up and eek out the win.
Most of the game was won by the boards with the high scorers being the
two centers, Jen Bowers 10 pts., and Liz Carie 7
pts. The Sonics also did really well
from the foul line hitting 12 points.
The rest of the scoring came from Krista Petrone
with 6 pts., Courtney Spinelli and Stacy Matranga with 4 points, Alyssa Guida
and Lauren Teixeira with 2 pts. and Renee Conlin with one point.
Katie Conklin and Stacy Matranga were strong
under the boards with Renee Conlin and Lauren
Teixeira playing tough “D” on the floor. Defensive player of the game were
Katie Conklin and Stacy Matranga.
Scoring for
the Magic were Amanda Cossar and Taylor Marshall with
7 points, Jessica Fortier with 6 pts., Gina Papageorgiou
with 5 pts., Jamie Flynn with 4 pts., and Nicole Devoe
and Brooke Mallahan with 2 points each.
Wizards 36
vs. Jazz 33
Liz Connolly,
The Jazz and
the Wizards played a very good and evenly matched game. Excellent shooting and
passing by both teams had the game close to the final minute. Scoring for the Jazz were Rachel Hurton with 8 pts., Shelby Madore
with 7 pts., Kailey Tirabassi
with 6 pts., and Hayley Austin, Sarah Hogan and Sarah Reynolds with 4 pts. apiece.

Crusaders 29
vs. Cardinals 16
Team
effort in this Crusaders win. Great team defense led by Devin Kelly with 3
steals and Mackenzie Carr with boxing out.
Both were named defensive players of the game. Great scoring balance by Kim Tecce with 10 pts., Megan Sears with 9 pts., Shannon
McLaughlin with 6 pts., and Devin Kelly and Jillian Phaneuf
with 2 pts. apiece.
Eagles 40 vs.
Wolverines 17
The Eagles
have increased their record to 6-0 with a tough game against the
Wolverines. Offensively Nicole Chaet scored 16
pts, Nicole DePiero 14 pts, Nicole Hamel 4 pts, Hanna
Culwell 4 pts and Brittney Pachucki
2 pts. Defensively the Eagles played well holding off the Wolverines from
gaining momentum in the second half. Some key rebounds were pulled down
by Marrisa Harrington, Mariah Culwell, and Kaitlyn Fitzgerald.
Krista Mignon was able to get off a couple of fast breaks, but the Wolverines
defense was tough. It was an aggressive game in the first half with both
teams applying the pressure, but the game was decided in the second half when
the Eagles stepped it up and won 40 to 17.
The
Wolverines played the best they could. A
hard fought physical game although the score didn’t reflect the great defense
the Wolverines played. Stephanie Champoux scored 5 pts., Shana Chartienitz
and Jen Salvucci with 4 pts., Christine Kang with 3
pts., and Rachel Ragucci with one point. The entire team was named defensive player of
the game.
Wildcats 39
vs. Waves 19
Scoring for the Wildcats were Melissa Cordwell with 20 pts., Linda Ferreira and Rachel Kelleher
with 4 pts., Meredith Bonugli with 3 pts., and Emily Hamilton, Ashley Kelly and
Catie Loiselle with 2 pts. each.
The Waves
played tremendous in the first half but couldn’t hit key shots in the second
half. Great rebounding
by Hayley Feingold and Kimberly Brekalis, who was
named defensive player of the game.
Scoring for the Waves were Tiffanie Marsh with
7 pts., Allie Tierney and Paige Walker with 4 pts., and Olivia Gallella and Hayley Feingold with 2 pts. each.
Huskies 24
vs. Cougars 12
The Huskies
made it two in a row against a tough Cougars Team. The Huskies took the lead in
the first quarter and never looked back. Shannon Semenza
paced the offense with 10pts. Marina Callahan helped out, scoring her first
basket of the year. Sam Laferriere (8pts) and Laura
Dooley (2pts) lead the way on the second unit. Rounding out the scoring was
Tessa Wyatts with 2pts. Controlling the boards were Ashley Pozzuto, Britney Sullivan and Sarah Barnes. Erin Morrissey
and Abby Meuse continue to play tough defense.
A
tough loss for the Cougars against a talented Huskies team. High scorer for the Cougars was
Michelle Hopkinson with 8pts. Samantha Campbell, Jennifer Cawley & Britnee DellArciprete each with 2pts to round out the scoring.
Ashlee DellArciprete, Allie Christopher, Meagan Blaisdell, Kaitlyn Gordon,
Melissa & Jennifer Maddaleni also played well for
the Cougars in the loss. Melissa Mackey who has several steals and played tough
aggressive defense was named defensive player of the game.
Terriers 24
vs. Falcons 13
Scoring for
the Terriers were Arianna Medeiros with 12 pts., Marissa Liggiero
with 4 pts. and Samantha Madore,
Aleska Pena, Alyssa Post and Taylor Simas with 2 points each.
Scoring for
the Falcons were Allyson Braciska
with 6 pts., Kelly Quigley with 3 pts., and Jen Joyce and Crystal Lemus with 2 pts. apiece.

Comets 13 vs.
Sparks 10
The lady
Comets battled nd battled to come away with a hard
fought win over a very tough Sparks team. The Comets were led by Jessica Guida with 8 pts., Christine Keefe and Jacqueline Noftle with 2 pts. each and
Kirsten Dick with one point. Great job rebounding by all.
Defensive player of the game went to Kirsten Dick.
The Sparks had a great game against the aggressive Comets team. The Sparks played hard on both offense
and defense. There were many shoots for
the Sparks, but most of them rolled in and out of the basket. Scoring for the Sparks were Sam
Lopolito with 4 pts, Chelsea Grant, June Garcia and
Marissa Maciel with 2 points each. There
was some great defense by Sara Baptista, Francesca Cocca, Estelle Penta, Meagan
Timmins and Maddy
Burgoyne. Both teams put forward their best effort. Way
to go Sparks.
Monarchs 18 vs. Mercury 12
The Monarchs
continue their aggressive defense holding a tough Mercury team to only 12
points in an exciting 18-12 game.
Veteran center Michelle Creedon had the best
game of her career stealing many balls, pulling down rebounds, and driving
nicely to the basket. High flying Jamie
Ray popped in a game high 8 points with Marissa Conlin
and Nicole Pentherbridge dropping in 6 and 4 points
respectively. First year guards Meghan Braciska and Molly Harrington were named defensive stars of
the game creating havoc for the front court of the Mercury. Alexis Chaet also
had a strong rebounding game while making some big plays in the fourth quarter.
Mary Crowe and Lacey Hartigan continue to improve and
gain confidence for the Monarchs squad.
Scoring for
the Mercury were Lisa Petrowski
with 6 pts., and Hillary Fletcher, Sandra Fleming and Lindsey Cossar with 2 points each.
Rockers 21
vs. Lynx 18

defensive game. The guarding was
outstanding with Katie Dunlevy and Meredith Cahill
both attacking the ball. Cristina Gath
moved around the court staying open for some great passing. Alysa DiFruscia took charge on the offense
,inbounding the ball against our toughest defense yet. Colleen Kelly gets the stealing award of the
game. Most important-
phenomenal team work.
In an
exciting and fast paced contest, the Lynx come up on the short end of a 21-18
score to a talented Rockers team.The Lynx had a big
12-point second quarter, erasing a large deficit to take the lead. The offense was led by the speedy Amanda
Brown and her 10 points. Also
contributing in the scoring column was Shannon Smith, (4 pts), Ally Kelly and Emily Veloso
with 2 points each. A terrific rebounding
performance was submitted by Toni Joy and Kayla Berube
against the Rockers' bigs. The high-energy pressing defense was was led by Ashley Figucia, Andrea
Doran and Delaney Chisolm.
Starzz 18 vs. Storm 11
The Starzz played a very strong defensive game against a tough
Storm team led by Defensive player of the game Erin Henry who's
tenacious defense sparked the team to a 14-4 lead after 3 quarters of play.
Offensively the Starzz used a well balanced attack
led by Kenzie Wyatt (6 pts.), Eva Barinelli
(4pts) and Erin Henry (4 pts). Molly Robertson and Loren Sullivan chipped in
with big baskets. The Starzz
strong front court of Stephanie Gifford-Deluca, Emily Duquette, Loren Sullivan and Molly Robertson played their
best game of the season with great defensive rebounding in spite of a height
disadvantage. Amanda Aylward played a great game
pressuring the very good guards of the Storm forcing many turnovers.
The win lifts the Starzz above the .500 mark at 3
wins 2 losses and a tie.
Scoring for
the Storm were Erica Dirk with 3 pts., and Taylor Donahoe, Nikki Doucette, Caroline Ferrari and Caleigh Finneral with two points
apiece.
