Monarchs 20
vs. Lynx 14
The Monarchs
schooled together in a sea like adventure 20-14 over a well coached Lynx squad.
“The difference was our teams’ outstanding “SpongeBob SquarePants”
defensive play schemes straight from the depths of the “Plankton” filled
playbook,” said the Monarchs Captain. “Sandy Cheek” like, Jamie Ray (6 pnts), Marissa Conlin (4 pnts) and Meghan Braciska (2 pnts) stole the bottom dwelling show, reeling in multiple
turnovers with their full court “Patrick” press which lead to many splashes in
the hoop. The swarming “Squidward” zone and
typhoon like man to “Sponge Bob” defense of Lacey Hartigan,
Nicole Pentherbridge, Molly Harrington, and Mary
Crowe relegated the talented Lynx squad to “Mr. Krab”
like outside shots which held their powerful and fluid offense in the sea
weeds. Veterans Alexis Chaet and Michelle Creedon also hit
for a apiece while running the “Gary” stack flawlessly thus helping to lead the
gritty Monarchs up from the depths in the Junior division standings.
