Senior Division
Pacers 29 vs. Jazz 20
With timely scoring from Amy DeFrancesco (7
pts.) and Alexandra Remigio (5 pts.), and good hard
team defense, the Pacers were able to add one to the win column. The Jazz were able to keep it close for most
of the game by constantly pressuring the ball but the Pacers were able to keep
them at bay. Brittney
Wallace and Meghan Hamilton (each with 4 pts.) played very well on
the offensive side of the court. Leading
the way on the defensive side with great effort were Courtney Downing, named
defensive player of the game, and Alicia Cordeiro. Nathalie Roberts (4 pts.) had one of her best
offensive games. The four points she
scored does not reflect the effort she put forth both on the offensive and
defensive boards. Congratulations to
both teams for a well played game.
Spurs 34 vs. Magic 25
Jessie Bissett's
8 points led the offense for Spurs followed by Siobhan Coleman and Sheri Liggiero, 6 points each, Emily Hartigan
and Hayley Malone, 2 points each, and Sydnie Lopolito, 1 point.
Erin Hartigan played aggressive defense and Catie Vultagio and Emily Giulliani had several rebounds for the Spurs. Congratulations to Catie
Vultagio, Emily Giulliani
and Jessie Bissett who were selected to represent the
Spurs on the TGBL All-Star team.
Sonics 18 vs. Raptors 16
This was a tough game. It looked like the Raptors were going to put
it into overtime, but Renee Conlin (7 pts.) drained a
basket with 20 seconds left to seal the deal.
Liz Carie led the scoring with 9 points and
Alyssa Guida scored 2 points. Defense was the name of the game for both
teams. Each team did a great job keeping
the other team out of the key. Lauren
Spencer and Krista Petrone led the Sonics “D” with
lots of help from Stacy Matranga and Katie Conklin.
Junior Division
Lynx 25 vs. Storm 9
Amanda Brown led the fast break
attack with 10 points. Ally Kelly (4 points), Toni Joy (2 points), and Shannon Smith
(9 points) contributed to the remainder of the points. ,Andrea
Dorin, Ashley Figucia, Kayle Berube, Emily Veloso and Delaney Chisolm all
played a great defensive games.
Scoring for the Storm was Caitlin
Carroll with 4 pts., Nikki Doucette and Caleigh Finneral with 2 points each and Erica Dirk with 1 point.
Rocker 17 vs. Starzz

The Starzz
are serious competition – great game Starzz! For the Rockers Heather Doyle came out with
the guns in the third quarter to score 3 consecutive baskets!! Along with Heather’s six we had Haley Pozzuto with 3 pts, Melissa Marksworth
with 2pts, Alysa Difuscia
with 2pts, Colleen Kelly with 2pts, and Corinne Doyle was on a mission with
another 2!! Katie Dunleavy had an
awesome game taking the ball away and switching her defensive position when
needed. Meredith Cahill has become an
official speed demon – wow – stopped a few baskets and did a great job slowing
down her dribble and waiting for the set up.
Nice team plays by Colleen Kelly, Alysa Difruscia, Heather Doyle, Corinne Doyle and Hayley Pozzuto – great job getting the ball down the court and passing to
the hoop!! On the DL was Cristina Gath
with an ankle injury – great team support!
The Starzz
came up three points short against the first place Rockers in this tough Jr.
League TGBL contest. The Starzz jumped out to
an early 6-3 lead in the first quarter but the Rockers battled back in the
second to take an 8-7 lead into half time. The second half was a great up
and down battle with many lead changes but the Starzz
shooting went cold and they just could not seem to come up with the big basket
when they needed to. The Starzz were led
defensively by Amanda Aylward, Erin Henry and
defensive player of the game Kenzie Wyatt.
Offensively for the Starzz
Molly Robertson and Loren Sullivan led the attack with 6Pts each and Eva
Barinelli added 2 pts. Also playing well for
the Starzz were Emily Duquette
and Stephanie Deluca-Gifford.
Mercury 18 vs. Comets 5
Scoring for the Mercury were Lisa Petrowski and Lauren Strong with 4 points each, Hillary
Fletcher, Sandra Fleming, Lindsey Cossar, Karalyn Gallella and Brittney
Fletcher with 2 points each.
The Mercury were
too much for the Comets with a balanced attack with 7 players scoring. The Comets were led by Carlye
Slavin with 4 points and
Jessica Guida with one.
Intermediate Division
Wildcats 40 vs. Wolverines 23
The Wildcats came into Saturday’s
game tied with the Wolverines for second place. The game was a tough physical
game from start to finish with the Wildcats coming out on top 40 to 23. Emily
Hamilton was named the defensive player of the game with another solid game on
the boards, The whole team should be proud of the way they played on both ends
of the court holding the Wolverines to 23 points while seven of the eight girls
on the Wildcats scored. Scoring for the
Wildcats were Melissa Cordwell
with 11 points, Meredith Bonugli and Haley Golini with 8 points each, Catie Loiselle and Ashley Kelly with 4 points each and Rachel
Kelleher and Molly Tibbetts with 2 points each.
Scoring for the Wolverines were
Christine Kang with 8 points, Shanell Nardone with 6, Shana Chartienitz
with 4 points and Rachel Ragucci and Jen Salvucci with 2 points each.
Falcons 40 vs. Waves 15
A great all around game for the
Falcons as all the players contributed on offense. The team was led in scoring
by Kelly Quigley with 12 pts., Kelsey Damp and Melissa Peters with 8 points
each. On defense, Rachel Eatherton was outstanding, shutting down the Waves players
and rebounding. Ally Braciska
with 6 points ran the point guard position and ran it well. Crystal Lemus also contributed with two great shots and Jen Joyce
had a number of key passes to streaking Falcon players.
Scoring for the Waves were Olivia Gallella with 7 points
and Kimberly Brekalis, Hayley Feingold, Stephaine Paine and Paige Walker with 2 points each.
Tarheels 25vs. Cougars 12
The Tar Heels compensated for a
tough shooting day by playing very well defensively and held off a good Cougars
team 25-12. Rachel Pendleton carried the team with 13 points and several
steals. Alex Mecherkany added 6 points and
dominated on the boards. Anna Piccolo, Abby Donoghue,
and Josie Saiz chipped in with 2 points each.
Jennifer Iannacci played well defensively in the
paint while Julia Bodoni and Gabi Mecherkany
showed great hustle to help limit the Cougars' scoring chances.
Congratulations to both teams for a well-played game.
A well played game by the Cougars
against a tough Tar Heels team. The Cougars made this one close most of the way
with great rebounding and tough in your face defense against a much taller and
talented team. Trailing by as few as 6 points at the end of 3 quarters and only
8 points with 2 1/2 minutes left in the game the Cougars could get no closer
and in the end fell by a final score of 25-12. Michelle Hopkinson led the
scoring with 6 pts. followed by Samantha Campbell, Kaitlyn Gordon & Melissa Mackey each with 2 pts.
Melissa Mackey and Meagan Blaisdell were named
co-Defensive Players of the Game for their outstanding defensive effort.
Crusaders 18 vs. Huskies 11
Scoring for the Crusaders were Kim Tecce with 6 points, Megan Sears with 4 points, Jillian Phaneuf with 4 points and Devin Kelly with 2 points. Great team effort by all.
Shannon McLaughlin was name defensive player of the game.
The Huskies played another close
game against a tough Crusaders team. The Huskies played a tight pressing
defense all game, which resulted in numerous turnovers. The Huskies limited the
Crusaders to 18 points but just couldn’t put the ball through the net. Scoring
for the Huskies were Sam Laferriere (4pts), Erin
Morrissey (2pts), Ashley Pozzuto (3pts) and Sara Semenza (2pts). Playing tough defense were Sarah Barnes,
Laura Dooley, Marina Callahan, Tessa Wyatts and
Britney Sullivan.
Eagles 29 vs. Cardinals 11
The Eagles
played their ninth game of the season against the Cardinals which ended in a
win for the Eagles bringing their record to 9-0. Offensively Nicole Chaet( 8pts), Hanna Culwell(2pts), Nicole DePierro(7pts),
Kaitlin Fitzgerald(4pts), Nicole Hamel(4pts), Marissa Harrington(2pts) and
Krista Mignon(4pts) all contributed to
the score. Defensively the Eagles did a
great job. Defensive standouts were
Brittney Pachucki and Mariah Culwell. Great job girls!
Scoring for
the Cardinals were Haley Callahan and Katherine Stimpson
with 4 points each and Haley Aconcia with 3 points.
Jayhawks 30 vs. Terriers 11
Scoring for the Jayhawks were Brooke
Patterson with 14 points, Caitlin Morris with 8 points, Bridget Casey with 4
points and MacKenzie Pierce and Kevita
Shah with two points each. Unbelievable coaching this week with stand in coaches June
Patterson and Kathy Casey. Good
job girls!!
