Badgers: 24 vs. Jayhawks: 30
Well the regular season didn’t end the way the Badgers hope it would as they fell to the Jayhawks 30-24. Excellent played game by the Jayhawks who only had 5 players, who out hustled and outplayed the Badgers. Badgers came out flat after a 2 week layoff and it showed. Leading the scoring for the Badgers Sam Ryan with 9 Points, followed by Katrina Macdonald with 8 points, Madelyn Montejo with 3 points and Darya Mehrabani and Brooklyn DeGrechie each had 2 points. The Sonics pulled together in their last regular-season game to secure a win. Sonics high-scorer was Asha Speller. Speller scored 10 of her 12 points in the second quarter to give her team the lead, but also had a steal with 8 seconds left to secure the win. Emily Walker (2pt) made some great cuts to get open. Amanda Moreira drove well to the net and played great defense. Ava Piccolo (2pt) handled the ball well against man defense. Alyssa Gray grabbed many weak-side offensive rebounds and moved well on offense. Michelle Hinkle (6pt) helped the Sonics lead with her man-press in the 3rd quarter. Guards Erica Hinkle (3pt) and Rachel Picher (2pt) helped hold the lead in the last quarter, working together to break the Suns' full-court press.

The Suns ended the regular season with a hard fought loss on Saturday to the Sonics 27 - 24. Down 9 with under 2 minutes to go, they came almost all the back and had a chance with 8 second left to tie the game. Juliana Ricci, Klara Holden and Kaitlyn Oates did a good job on defense of rebounding the basketball and limiting the Sonics second chase opportunities. The scoring came from Christina Capachietti 14, Madison Stovesand 6, Courtney Capachietti and Brooke Woodman with 2 each. The Suns finished the season in second place and earned well deserved first round bye for the playoffs that begin in 2 weeks.
