Junior League Games
Bianca Olu and Charlotte Bosworth lead the Storm offense knocking down sweet jump shots. Delaney Salois and Sophia Petropoulos attacked the boards pulling down multiple rebounds each. Rae Chiesa was flying around on the defensive end and came up with several big steals. And although not feeling well, Maya Adams fought through, gave it everything she had and played an outstanding game. The Storm players never gave up, played hard and improved every quarter. Great game!
Storm – 4
The Mystics had a great start to the season. Each girl gave their best effort and worked well together as a team. We had big scores from Chloe Veator, Kathryn Pejic, Shailagh Post, Molly Witts and Julia Pacheco. Caly Loring and Sarah Maccioli had some great rebounds while Sophia Cambell and Peyton Conley showed a lot of hustle.
On Saturday Nov. 23rd the TGBL Intermediate League Badgers kicked off their season with a 25-8 loss to the Terriers. The Badgers were led by Maya Paguette who scored 4 points and pulled down several rebounds. Sophia Velloso and Meaghan DiPalma each chipped in 2 points to round out the scoring. The Badgers got terrific defense by Leila Sibay.
The Jazz began their Senior League season with a hard fought overtime victory, 26 to 23 over the Suns on Saturday. Both teams had difficulty getting their offenses going, as defense was “the name of the game”. Morgan Crowley and Aislin Davis were defensive stoppers, as they created 9 turnovers between them. Rebecca Boudreau hit a huge jumper in overtime and Paige Crowley made one free to give the Jazz a 3 point lead. Great defense foiled the Suns last shot attempt at the end. The Jazz’s scoring came from Kristina Smith and Charlotte Morris with 5 each, Makayla Stovesand 4, Paige Crowley and Dakota Malizia with 3 each, Rebecca Boudreau, Madison Pauling, and Emma Ryan with 2 each.

Jazz 26 Suns 23
It was a slow starting and low scoring 1st half of basketball. The Suns 1st year player Stephanie MacKeen had some great looking shot attempts but the ball just would not fall. Emily Erickson, Juliana Leffler and Ella MacAllister also had some high-quality shots that would just not drop in. In the first half, the Suns also showed some stellar defense, with 3 outstanding chase down blocks by Chelsea Keefe. There was also some good pressure defense that resulted in a couple of steals and Jazz turnovers by Reese Maniscalco.
At halftime the offense picked up for both teams. The Suns leading scorer was from the birthday girl, Mackenzie Hickey who made a three-pointer going into the 4th quarter. You also saw Skylar Auth make some excellent defensive plays as well was able to draw a foul while hitting her shot attempt for a possible and one, but the foul shot did not fall. The Suns saw themselves down by 2 with seconds left in the 4th quarter. Haleigh Doiron made a running, 10-foot jump shot forcing the game to go into overtime. In overtime, the Jazz would not be beat, playing some terrific pressure defense and handing the Suns their 1st loss of the season. The Suns will look to get their first win, when they face the Blazers on 12/7/2019.
Suns, Box Score: Mackenzie Hickey (9 pts.), Haleigh Doiron (7 pts.), Skylar Auth (3 pts.), Reese Maniscalco and Erin Costello both with (2 pts.) each.
