Junior League Games
The Storm played their best game of the season as they continue to show great improvement on both ends of the court. Sophia Petropoulos lead the team in scoring & Brooke Dykeman came up big by netting her first bucket of the season to help keep the Storm in the game. Bianca Olu was a force on defense as she swatted away several shots and grab about a million rebounds. Caroline Schnee has proven to be a great team leader and one of the Storm’s most consistent players by doing a lot of everything and filling up the stat sheet. Charlotte Bosworth continued her all around solid play by hustling on defense and making great passes. The Storm played hard and never gave up. Great game!
The Wolverines pulled off another victory this week, with a win over the Jayhawks.
After a scoreless defense intense first quarter, Chloe Mello and Erin Langone jumped onto the board with 2 and 4 points respectively. Makayla Delorey added a whopping 6 points to that total in the third, followed by 4 points from leading scorer Langone again in the fourth. Delorey's rebounding along with strong defensive showings by Paige Insogna and Madison Condon denied several key scoring opportunities for the Jayhawks, who amassed 7 total points compared to the Wolverines 16.
On Saturday Jan. 4th the TGBL Intermediate League Badgers dropped a hard fought game to the Terriers 12-16. Throughout the first half the Badgers hung with the top ranked Terriers (the score was 7-8 at the half). In the first half we saw some really tough defense in the middle by Meaghan DiPalma and Riley Morrison, but also on edges by Sophia Velloso, Cordelia Zwerek, Lauren Pelletier, and Maya Paquette. However, the 3rd quarter proved to be the difference where the Terriers scored 4 while the Badgers were held scoreless. Sophia Velloso (5 pts.), Cordelia Zwerek (4 pts.) & Maya Paquette (3 pts.) accounted for the Badgers scoring on the day. Again, great game by the whole Badgers team.
